Seeking Spanish speaking Brand Ambassador for Tequila brand (Chicago)
Ammo Marketing is searching for experienced nightlife professionals for an exciting Brand Ambassador position; this is a contract role, initially for up to 4 months, starting in late June.
The client is a tequila brand with an energetic story; we need a person that demonstrates similar passion, combined with business savvy, in all that they do. You must live in Chicago and have an extensive network of both trade and consumer Influencers in your city.
Stop right here though if you don’t speak Spanish, and you don’t have experience in drinks. Both are required for this opportunity.
The right candidate will be interested in brand marketing, have worked in a bar or club setting and be passionate about sharing their experience and stories with individuals. This is a full-time contract position, not a 9 – 5 job. It requires dedication, imagination and a passion for the client’s brand and the local nightlife scene. You will know the scene, the players, artists, musicians, authors, muralists and designers as well the club and bar owners – and how to speak their language. The job offers a huge amount of autonomy, fun and involvement with one of the most exciting marketing disciplines of the moment.
Job Description Summary:
The Ambassador will be the in-market evangelist and point person for the client’s brand. Their role will include:
- Identifying the appropriate Trade Influencers and their associated accounts, that fit with the client brand’s Influencer strategy
- Creating a dialogue with these Trade Influencers and executing brand education experiences
- Strong relationships with Mexican American community and surrounding social networks
- Developing a close relationship with the local Distributor and client Regional Sales team to secure new distribution against any target-right gaps in coverage
- Reaching beyond the trade, to identify and build relationships with appropriate consumer Influencers – gallery owners, designers, DJ’s and other opinion formers
- Identifying and managing local sponsorship opportunities such as band appearances, gallery exhibits or on-premise swap-meets by managing a sponsorship dollars budget
- Hire and manage a part-time promotions team for on-premise activity
- Seeding Brand Educational materials to appropriate Influencers (this is NOT about giving t-shirts and key rings to consumers, please re-consider if this job is for you, if that’s what your experience is focused on)
Desired Knowledge/Skills:
Ambassadors will need to demonstrate the following:
- Socially gregarious; if you don't enjoy meeting new people and making friends, don't apply!
- Be in tune with and passionate about popular culture
- An in-depth knowledge of the local bar-scene, nightlife industry and creative communities of your city. You must already have a well-established social network and be prepared to reach out beyond that
- Street-savvy, with the ability to improvise and think creatively around tactical and strategic issues
- Proven project management skills, and ability to work autonomously, regularly reporting up to a boss who'll supervise remotely
- Experience in developing promotional marketing programs based on input from bartenders and nightlife insiders
- Knowledge of, or roots within, cocktail culture a HUGE plus
- Demonstrated client relationship management experience
- IT literate; functional office space and equipment required (i.e. computer, printer, internet access, etc).
Ambassadors will report directly to the Ammo Marketing Account Director in San Francisco. Success will be measured by word of mouth metrics and brand health measures. An appropriate expenses budget will be provided, to allow you to build relationships with Trade and Consumer Influencers.
Please provide the following if interested:
(a) 3 professional references
(b) cover letter explaining what specific skills you would bring to the role
(c) your resume.
Relevant experience may include part-time, un-paid positions, etc. Pictures or other creative elements that illustrate you or your knowledge of your city are great too! Send cover letter and resume to chicagoambassador@ammomarketing.com.

Looking for Leaders to get on board the Beat McCain Train! (Chicago)

Campaign Jobs: Win the White House in November!Stop the Republican Party’s Electoral Machine
“…maybe a hundred years…that would be fine with me.”
-- John McCain, on keeping US troops in Iraq
(January 3, 2008, at a Derry, NH town hall meeting)Relieved that George W. Bush is not on the ballot this November? Look closer. A John McCain Presidency = a Third Term of George Bush policies and Karl Rove politics. Here‘s the record. Scroll down to see what you can do about it. -
John McCain was one of the earliest and most strident supporters of invading Iraq, and has recently joked about bombing Iran.
-
With several Supreme Court vacancies possible in the next four years, McCain has promised to appoint right-wing judges who will overturn Roe v. Wade.
-
Despite his reputation for being a pro-environment ‘maverick’ (as Republicans go), McCain scored a zero on the environment last year, skipping 15 critical Senate votes that most of his opponents returned to DC for.
-
As the economy teeters near recession and middle class families need help, John McCain is stubbornly defending Bush’s tax cuts for the rich instead of working to make health care and education affordable. He admits "I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. I still "need to be educated".
-
George W. Bush’s principal financial backers (the “Rangers” and “Pioneers”) are already lining up behind McCain as the best person to protect their interests, and former Bush staffers have started a shadowy new right-wing group aiming to raise $250 Million for swift-boat style attacks against McCain’s Democratic opponent.
Yes, the GOP machine that gave us the Bush Presidency is cranking up again. How do you beat it? Organize. Start early and work like we’re 20 points down. 2008 will be the year we finally out-perform the Republican Right and change politics for good. To be part of making it happen, contact us today. Grassroots Campaigns is hiring both entry-level and experienced campaign staff. To find out about our opportunities, visit our website at www.grassrootscampaigns.com/jobs or email a cover letter and resume to Mark at jobs@grassrootscampaigns.com.
