Anul acesta vom incerca sa facem un program mai special, cu putina muzica, un ceaun de gulyas pentru toata lumea si in general o organizare putin mai buna. Va asteptam.

Ce este "ZZ2010"? Un picnic organizat de zalauani pentru toti romanii din Chicago. Nu conteaza de unde esti, suna-ti prietenii si hai la picnic. Fara obligatii, fara pretentii...

Ce se intampla la ZZ2010: gratare, campionat de fotbal, campionat de volei, muzica, gulyas

Cine vine: 2-300 de romani, cu chef de distractie

Cand: Duminica, 1 august 2009, (10AM - 9PM)

Cat costa: Acceptam donatii de la toata lumea incepand cu 1$/persoana. Zalauanii 3$/persoana.

Unde: Erickson Woods Picnic reserve (Willow/I94). Din Chicago intri NORD pe I94 si iesi la Willow Rd. Vezi harta mai jos

Alcool: numai cat puteti duce (asigurati-va ca aveti sofer); este interzis sa tineti la vedere orice fel de container de sticla (doar can-uri de aluminiu, sticle si pahare de plastic). Nu aveti voie sa beti alcool in parcare sau langa parcare (50 feet)

Parcare: Da, exista loc cam de 100 de masini. First come first served.

Copii: da, cu cat mai multi, cu atat mai bine

Reguli: fiecare isi aduce mititeii si berea, gratarul (eventual), si chef de chef. daca nu va puteti aduce gratarul de acasa, aproape sigur gasiti pe cineva care sa vi-l imprumute sa va prajiti carnea. Va fi cald si vom juca fotbal si volei. In poiana se gaseste un shelter (o constructie cu acoperis) unde va puteti ascunde in caz de ploaie si vreo 20 de mese, pe care oricine le poate folosi (regula este primul venit, primul servit).

Parcare: Sunt multe locuri de parcare gratuite disponibile, dar incercati sa veniti cat mai devreme si cat mai multi cu o masina (car pooling), pentru a evita aglomeratia 

REPET: Nu aveti voie sa beti din nici un fel de containere din sticla, aduceti doze de suc/bere si pahare din plastic. Nu aveti voie sa beti alcool la mai putin de 15m de parcare.

Campionat de volei si campionat de fotbal: anul trecut au fost 8 echipe de volei cam tot atatea echipe de fotbal. Pentru inscrieri in acest an va rog sa il sunati pe Marius Oros la 773-443-0397. Daca aveti echipa, nu uitati sa va aduceti  tricouri de aceeasi culoar. Nu veniti toti in rosu :)

Freak n’ Chic’s Finest, Dyed Soundorom will headline a day party, from 4 pm – 12 am, at Chicago’s legendary Green Dolphin Street, with Spectral Sound artist Kate Simko, on July 10, 2010. The event is hosted by the combined forces of 2; Red Belts, VOLATL Events, and Swing Swift. Pre-Sale tickets can be purchased via www.clubtix.net.

Dyed Soundorom comes from the Paris underground, where he made his entrance to the party scene as an event promoter and especially gifted DJ and producer. From the cutting edge dancefloors of Batofar and the Rex Club in Paris, his DJ career has gone global. In recent months Dyed has racked up an eye-watering number of air-miles and brought his deft touch to the hottest parties on the planet, including Berlin’s Panoramabar, to Warehouse 702 in Tokyo, Fabric London, Goa in Roma, NYC Blk market and Ushuaia beach, the most talked-about party of Ibiza 2009. His production talent caught the attention of Freak n’ Chic label boss Dan Ghenacia, which led to Dyed doing remixes for the label’s compilation ‘Rendez Vous 01’. Since then Dyed has released 12”s and EPs on labels including Spectral Sound, Freak n’Chic, Crosstown Rebels, Adult Only, Supplement Facts, Safari electronique and Tsuba Records, and added his remix skills to projects including ‘Eyelights’ and the ‘Tsuba Remixes Vol 3’ compilation along with Pier Bucci, Daniel Stefanik and D’Julz.

Also playing the special day-time event is Ghostly/Spectral Sound recording artist Kate Simko, who is certainly a treasure of Chicago’s electronic music community. Propulsive, groovy and hypnotic, Kate’s music occupies the space between techno and house with an international voice that sets it apart. In 2008, Kate’s Spectral EP She Said was critically acclaimed worldwide and topped Beatport charts for weeks. Her brilliant releases can be heard in the sets of some of the world’s biggest DJs. She has played London’s Fabric, Berlin’s Berghain, the famed Sunday School for Degenerates party in New York, Winter Music Conference in Miami, Detroit’s Movement Festival, Montreal’s Mutek festival, Seattle’s Decibel festival and more.

Dino G has finds himself playing at some of the world’s finest clubs, touring from Ibiza to Miami to LA and back. His high-profile gigs in Chicago and his position as Talent Buyer for Spybar have increased his visibility throughout North America. Dino G and partner Garrett B are, collectively, 2 Red Belts. They will launch their much anticipated tech-house label this fall. Having previously hosted a series of wildly successful WMC events, 2 Red Belts recently treated Chicago partiers to an amazing underground event featuring Lee Curtiss and Matt Tolfrey.

Funk Shui, aka Brandon Burke, comes to Chicago via Detroit and embodies a musical philosophy adhering to rules that govern a funky sound arrangement and orientation in relation to patterns of yin and yang and the flow of energy. His events in Chicago, and most recently his “Floating Frequencies” boat party, during Movement 2010, have established him as an up and coming force in the Midwest dance music scene.

Most recently, VOLATL launched the (re)Chicago series with Mazi and Kate Simko and produced “Something in the Sky,” a conceptual event with Jeff Mills and Mike Banks, in Detroit. Swing Swift is the driving force behind Chicago’s acclaimed Boom Boom Room and is renowned for the cultivation of house music events in Chicago.

On Friday July 9, 2010 Chicago’s Spy Bar along with VOLATL Events will present ground-breaking producer/DJs Mr. C and Adultnapper at Spy Bar. This will be the first joint appearance by the two as the duo, “Sycophant Slags.” Joining them will be Chicago/Detroit favorite, Jason Patrick. The show is not to be missed and will be free with an RSVP to [email protected], before midnight.

Mr. C, aka Richard West, is an international dj, innovative producer, founder of plink plonk , Shamen frontman and co owner of the end, Mr. C emerged as a pioneering force in the house music scene in 1987 and has continued to be instrumental in the proliferation of dance music on a global scale. His commitment to experimentation and credibility in setting the standards for sophistication in all sub-genres of dance music has earned him world-wide prestige as he endeavours to take the sounds of the underground to new and more accessible heights with events like Superfreq and Subterainian. Most recently Mr. C can be found doing his Superfreq parties which currently run on the 1st Saturday of every month at Paramount situated 31 stories above London on top of the famous London landmark Center Point. Superfreq is also now the last Friday of Each month in Los Angeles at Bardot as an after hours, bi-monthly in Calais France & quarterly at Junk Club, Southampton. Superfreq has also done parties with MADE Event in New York & has had 6 fantastic seasons in Ibiza, 3 at Underground & 2 seasons at DC10 & last year at Blu. Mr. C has also been studying "Spirituality & the art of acting" for 6 years now which has opened up many doors in his personal life as well as improving all aspects of his artistic life. Observing the objectives to purposes rocks. He's landed 2 roles in UK flicks which you'll hear more about in the not to distant future.

Adultnapper is a shadowy figure drawn from the dark reaches of Francis Harris’ imagination. Harris, a philosphy phD drop-out with punk rocker roots, hails from suburban Las Vegas but has called Brooklyn home for the past 9 years - a stretch in which he has gone from “hating dance music,” to establishing himself as an underground DJ/Producer with a unique sound and a global audience. In 2004, having achieved success as a DJ, Label Owner and Event Producer, Harris turned to the studio, intent on exploring new sonic territory, and adopting the Adultnapper moniker to represent his efforts. What emerged was a reaction against the skippy rhythms and repetetive loops that had dominated the electronic dance music landscape. Instead, Harris took a sophisticated, song-based approach, characterized by elaborate swung micro-rhythms, thick musical baselines, complex arrangements, haunting tonal melodies and brooding introspective atmospheres - and tastemakers took note. A steady stream of Adultnapper tracks have since appeared on some of the world‘s most esteemed labels - Steve Bug’s Audiomatique, Frank Lorber‘s Nummer, Mr. C’s Superfreq, Mule Electronic, Dirt Crew, etc. - and have been hotly tipped by elite DJs - Loco Dice, Danny Tenaglia, Craig Richards, Sven Vath, Laurent Garnier, Sasha, Monika Kruse, Steve Lawler, Danny Howells, etc. - thus firmly establishing Harris as one rare purveyor who steadfastly challenges the conventional wisdom and accepted shortcuts of post modern electronic music. With a steady stream of appearances at Sunday School for Degenerates, and with Mr. C as “Sycophant Slags,” Francis’ momentum is only increasing.

Jason Patrick, a passionate music fan since childhood, became immersed in Detroit’s techno and house music culture in the late 90s when he began DJing. In early 2007, Jason relocated to Chicago, where promoters and club-goers alike embraced his sound—long, smooth mixes blending contemporary tech-house and jackin’ techno. Soon he began gigging at countless underground parties and virtually every noteworthy Chicago club. In addition to his numerous Chicago appearances, he has performed in Detroit, Miami (at WMC), and other Midwest cities, playing alongside such artists as Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Mistress Barbara, Ambivalent, Martin Buttrich, Camea, and many more. Jason is the label manager of Klectik Recordings, an accomplished producer, remixer, and DJ.

Hoping to expose audiences to the depth of the artistry in techno, minimal and house, VOLATL’s recent events have featured a myriad of genre-defining artist including Stacey Pullen, Marcin Czubala, Bruno Pronsato, Exercise One, Ida Engberg, Konrad Black and Paco Osuna, among others. VOLATL has produced dozens of memorable techno events in Chicago, Detroit, New York, and Miami with a forward-thinking approach to bookings and cutting edge sound systems. Most recently, VOLATL hosted Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg at Spy Bar and launched the (re)Chicago series with Mazi and Kate Simko.
