Job Summary  
  Primary Role  
This position is a combination of a Business and Systems Analyst supporting the Global Environment Health and Safety Team located in Bannockburn Illinois. Key activities include:
  • Analyze complex business processes related primarily to the Environment, Health and Safety function.
  • Work with external consultants and vendors along with internal EHS and IT resources to identify, evaluate, develop and/or redesign systems and procedures to meet user requirements on large initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of system documentation and training materials as well as training processes.
  • Analyze EHS data for consistency and completeness. Analyze performance data and develop reports for internal and external use.
 
Essential Functions  
  Responsibilities  
EHS Information Management Systems (EHS IMS)
  • Coordinate with business parties and third-party service provider responsible for implementing EHS IMS changes, developing and executing unit/system testing scripts for system regression testing, configuring custom reports, and developing training materials, user guides, and other system documentation.
  • Coordinate an internal EHS user team to identify and document system change requests, prioritize system changes for implementation, resolve system issues / questions, and share best practices.
  • Provide end-user training via WebEx and face-to-face sessions.
  • Partner with IT on technical tasks such as server maintenance, maintaining system interfaces, refreshing system environments, applying software updates, ensuring data privacy compliance, verifying user security settings, and tracking user licensing .
  • Co-Manage, in coordination with corporate IT group, the following system tasks:
    • Help desk tickets
    • User accounts (creation / deletion / modification)
    • Company directory updates
    • Monthly metrics reporting campaigns
    • Data imports and exports
    • Communications via the EHS website or EHS Sharepoint portal
  • Assist with compiling, verifying and publishing EHS data Used for recurring internal reports.
  • Assist with implementing long-term EHS IMS strategy for upgrading or replacing current systems
 
EHS Data Management
  • Analyze EHS data and create meaningful reports, including routine progress reports for upper management and the EHS leadership team, to identify and explain performance trends. Must be able to accurately and efficiently manipulate large data sets for comprehensive analysis and present performance results in a meaningful visual format
  • Assist with the development of automated processes for data consolidation (dashboards) and publication via Sharepoint or other standard corporate systems.
  • Routinely review data in the information management systems for gaps and possible inconsistencies and addresses issues constructively with individual facilities. Assess data-related issues and develop resolutions in order to meet department objectives.
  • Provide support to corporate EHS function to assure compliance with injury and illness recordkeeping guidelines and company standards.
 
EHS Intranet / Sharepoint Management
  • Assist with the administration and development of Sharepoint sites to improve and automate EHS business processes.
  • Assist in coordinating web-content development for the corporate EHS function, and other analytic projects as needed.
 
   
         
  Key Skills and Competencies
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical capability, including the ability to use multiple computer applications, and manipulate data to produce clear data analysis reports.
  • Advanced skills using the following computer applications: Tableau, Cognos or similar Business Intelligence tools, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel PowerPoint, Access, and Word) and Microsoft SharePoint. Examples of desired Excel skill include sumifs, vlookup, index + match, array formulas, pivot tables, data slicers, conditional formatting, VBA, and macros.
  • Enablon Advanced Builder Certification is considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Ability to import and export data between applications for manipulation and analysis.
  • Ability to design, edit and publish website pages.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet requirements and deadlines from multiple stakeholders, and execute tasks strategically in a fast paced work environment.
  • Experience with managing multiple, often concurrent projects utilizing effective project management skills.
  • Ability to plan and run regular meetings, (often remote through WebEx tools), and track meeting action items, drive accountability, etc.

  Education & Experience Requirements
  Essential
  • Bachelors' degree or commensurate business experience.
  • 2-5 years data management application support experience including requirements gathering / documentation, system testing, problem resolution and training.
Desired
  • Experience with general EHS programs and management systems (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001), root cause analysis, and U.S. OHSA Illness and Injury record-keeping rules
  • Proven capability in managing an enterprise-level data management system.
